Matryx User Guide

Matryx User Guide

Matryx is a free toolkit for working with matrices and vertices.

Common problems

Some files listed are not deleted. Why?
Disc Broom cannot delete files if the user doesn't have the permission, e.g. files located in system folders.

How it works

Disc Broom searches for a specific filename pattern. It uses a stack to read the complete directory list of the hard disc and then goes on to search for files which end in .TMP, .BAK, .GIZ etc. These files are usually temporary files or files no longer required to the system and with no use to the user.

Input Past End

Symptoms

This error is caused by corrupting the internal structuring of the menu file. This can be accidentally brought about by the user e.g.

  • adding stuff from the desktop
  • including commas in the name of a menu item
The user might not actually know, that anything is being broken until the changes are saved and/or the file reloaded.

Migration

Migration from version 1.0 alpha

To migrate from Menu Inventor 1.0 alpha, use the Migrator.exe tool which is included in the standard installation pack since version 1.1. Note that the older version of this tool called MIF2MXF.exe is now obsolete and its use is strongly discouraged.

New site stuff

Bunch of stuff has been added and changed:

  • Dynamic menu: the Navigation menu on the right is now dynamic and allows you to expand/collapse menus with ease! Try it out.
  • Live Search: Yep, no kidding. Start typing into the search box at the top and wait about a second. Results on-the-fly.
  • Fast feedback - that little feedback form in the bottom right corner of your screen, use to post ideas and suggestions. Really fast.
  • Launching forums: they are a great way to discuss and fix issues. Forums link is now located in the top navigation menu

ActiveX Error 429

The most common problem that particularly users of Windows 2000 and 98 had to face, is caused by the incorrect or missing registration of some important components, which Menu Inventor relies on. But enough of technical gibberish, here's how to solve it:
